Group Revision Notes: Collection with Introduction

Introduction

Remember the purpose of the collection and introduction. Re-read the assignment material so you are clear.

The purpose of the collection is not to argue one particular point, although it might represent a point of view.

The purpose of the introduction is to bring interested readers up to speed on the topic of your digital essay and your position paper. It introduces them to the conversation.

The introduction introduces people to the sources that they will find in the collection. It explains the conversation the sources fit into and that kind of information a reader might find.

Do not repeat what you have said in the collection. The introduction synthesizes and summarizes the contests so the reader can answer the following question: Will this collection provide me with good information on the topic.

Give your collection a title that answers a question, such as: How should law enforcement respond to the opioid crisis? or Can a Universal Basic Income Address Poverty and Unemployment in the United States?
